Robert DeMario Pearl Necklace 2 Strands Fancy Clasp 1950s Jewelry $195

Just one look at the unique, gorgeous, clasp on this necklace...and you know this is a Robert DeMario necklace for Miriam Haskell. If you seek an exceptional heirloom quality pearl necklace, this is a rare find!

This necklace has two super luminous strands of baroque oval glass pearls, all hand knotted in between each pearl. These are weighty glass pearls with long lasting incredible Majorca finishes. These are exceptional quality glass pearls unlike the vast majority of other vintage designer pearl necklaces; DeMario was top quality.

One very lovely aspect about this necklace : You want to show off the clasp and wear it off to the side of your neckline. The large round clasp design incorporates a large baroque pearl cab, gold leaves, and a cluster of seed pearls at the center. Flanking the sides of the design are rows of diamond like clear sparkling rhinestone chatons, all prong set.

You cant see the complex way in which the clasp was made as it is hidden by the clasp mechanism. However, all of the features on the clasp are individually wired in place. It took as much time to make the clasp as it took to make the rest of the necklace!

When clasped, the shortest strand on the necklace is about 25" or 64 cm long. The baroque pearls are about 9 mm long and the clasp is 1 1/8" or 27 mm wide.

The condition of this necklace is absolutely spectacular. It looks new and never worn. All of the pearls are microscopically clean and luminous with no imperfections or flaws. The thick knotted cord is bright white and like new. The clasp is superb as well with no wear to the pearls or to the gold. All of the rhinestones on the clasp are original, present, and super sparkling. The gold metal on the back of the clasp has some light scratches from handling.

The necklace is not signed, but it is unmistakably DeMario. (Most of his pearl necklace designs only came with a paper hang tag and were not designer signed.)

Comes shipped in a new silk lined necklace presentation box.
