Art Deco Earrings Black n Clear Glass Pyramids 1920s Antique Jewelry $135

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made in the 1920s, these Art Deco black and clear glass dangle earrings are a rare old style as the beads are pyramid shaped glass and the earrings are signed Western Germany. You can read the description of the earrings below, but I have something to else to say about these earrings.

Sometime during or shortly after WWII, a young lady saw these earrings in a window display in a jewelry store in West Germany and had to have them. I wonder who she was, if she had the money to buy them, and what occasion were they for? Did she spend her entire weeks paycheck to get them ? Or, perhaps an American soldier was sweet on her and bought them for her. There is nostalgia and a feeling if warmth I get with these earrings.

The bad news is we will never know the lady who owned them. The good news is she kept the earrings in great shape and you too will get the same sense of mysterious nostalgia when you put the earrings on your ears.

The large clear glass elongated bicone dangle at the bottom is made of two clear faceted pyramid beads with a faceted black glass disk bead at the center. The dangle is topped with one clear and one black glass pyramid bead as well as a faceted black glass round button at the ear post. There are some tiny air bubbles in the clear glass beads that add extra sparkle.

The earrings are screw backs and are made of silver metal. Medium petite in length, the earrings are 2" or 50 mm long. The large 3 part bead is 17.5 mm long x 10 mm wide.

Both earrings are in superb condition with no imperfections or flaws. The earrings are microscopically clean and bright and the pair is not signed. All of the glass beads have strong facets with no wear and there are no chips, cracks, or scratches.

I should also not that on one earring, one of the black glass pyramids has what looks like a tiny flea bite on an edge ( only visible under a loupe) but upon close inspection it is simply a slight jagged speck created when the glass came out of the mold.

Art Deco Dress Clips Camphor Glass Shells 1930s Antique Jewelry $145

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

These antique Art Deco French style dress clips are a very unique eccentric pair!

These are French in style and although they are unsigned, they could have been made in Europe or by a top notch US jewelry designer such as Renaid. The quality of craftsmanship is superb.

The clips dates from the 1925-1940 era and are made of heavy gold plated metal and light grey Camphor glass tear drops that form a fan pattern. The thick metal curled clam shell design is painted in light and dark pinks and accented with gold plate bars. The tear drop glass cabs are thick lead glass and all are prong and bezel set.

The backs have ornate gold clips with embossed designs. Measuring 1 1/4" tall and 1 5/8" wide, both clips are in fabulous clean condition with no signs of wear. The glass cabs and the enamels are perfect and there is no loss of gold, not even on the clips.

Art Deco Dress Clip w Earrings Turquoise w Crystals 1920s Jewelry $155

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

When women see an antique dress clip WITH matching earrings like these, a very rare-to-find dress clip set, and it is so completely charming and full of romantic character they say " Oooooo..Prrreeety!" It is a phrase not often heard in the realm of antique and vintage jewelry because it has to be really old and Victorian, Art Deco, or Art Nouveau to be so pretty.

This very fine quality Art Deco set from the 1920-1930 era is made of thick silver rhodium metal. The dress clip has three interlocking Deco style circles, topped with clear crystal baguette arches and trimmed out in tiny clear rhinestones. The oval design on the circles is both turquoise glass and clear rhinestones; notice how the design is half and half! The matching earrings are screwbacks.

Unsigned, the dress clip is medium petite in size at 1 5/8" tall x 1 1/4" wide or 4.2 cm x 3.2 cm. The earrings are 1 1/4" long x 5/8" wide or 3.2 cm x 1.6 cm.

This set is in impeccable like new condition and has obviously never been worn. All of the rhinestones and glass cabs are original, present, and in super sparkling condition. There is no silver rhodium wear any wear; not even on the clip of the dress clip or on the screw backs of the earrings. I highly doubt this set was made in the US. It was most likely made in England or France.

Art Deco Chandelier Earrings 1950s Chic Cube Rhinestone Midis $85

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

You might think these 1950s chandelier earrings are an Art Deco design, but these boxy midi dangles were considered "Chic Ultra Modern" in the 1950s. The box dangle design is very uncommon to find and I don't think this style was made for more than a couple of years in the mid to late 1950s.

The earrings are made for pierced ears and are made of silver rhodium metal. The box design is slightly arched, slightly curved on the sides, and completely paved with high quality Swarovski clear crystals, all prong set. The stone settings are very tight and precise as the craftsmanship is exemplary.

At the bottom are 6 short matching dangles. The dangles are the perfect length at 7/8" long as this length makes the earring swing sharply with just the slightest movement, unlike longer dangles that you have to stand on your head and bounce around around like Nadia Comaneci in order to get the long sections to swing!

Overall, the earrings are 1 3/4" long x 5/8" wide or 4.4 cm x 1.6 cm. Unsigned, both earrings are in pristine like new condition and have never been worn. The earrings are microscopically clean and sparkling and all of the crystals are original, present, and super brilliant. There is no rhodium wear or any imperfections anywhere.

Antique Porcelain Pendant 24kt Gold Hand Painted Victorian Necklace $145

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Antique porcelain brooches are rather common to find but antique porcelain pendants, of great size, are a rather uncommon find.

This exceptional hand painted porcelain pendant was most likely made in England, Bavaria, or Germany during the late Victorian period. There is a mold stamp on the back , the number 50, which could indicate the country of origin and the maker but I have never seen it before. The 24kt gold lace like ribbon style trim around the perimeter is also a very uncommon decoration as most antique porcelain pendants and brooches had mostly solid gold trims.

This large slightly domed oval porcelain cab is hand painted with cabbage roses in red and pink, blue and yellow flowers, and two shades of green in the stems and leaves.

Large in size, the pendant with bail is 2 1/2" tall x 1 5/8" wide or 64 mm x 42 mm. The pendant has the original large gold gilt bail and a newer gold pated chain 20 " or 51 cm long.

The entire pendant is in superb pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, scuffs, chips, cracks, or repairs. The hand painted decor is in excellent unfaded and unworn condition as well. The face of the pendant retains the original high gloss shine and the back is unglazed.

Comes shipped in a new silk lined luxury presentation necklace box.

Antique Pin Elegant Silver Marcasite Victorian Brooch 1930s Jewelry $145

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This elegant antique Marcasite ribbon brooch is a very old one in superb condition. The design is Victorian however based on the style of the safety clasp and the hinge, this brooch was most likely made in the 1920-1930 era from an old Victorian mold.

The brooch is made of solid and weighty 800 silver and the brooch is signed 800, CB. CB is designer's intials, probably from Germany, France, or the Netherlands.

The brooch has a large and lively day lily flower at the center with all of the petals and stamens paved with faceted Marcasites. The elongated ribbons are twisted in sharp geometric angles and with four finials or arms between the four ribbons. All of the arms and ribbons are paved with faceted Marcasites as well.

Antique Pin Carved Celluloid Coral Roses 1930s Victorian Jewelry $65

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Im certain that you know that rose celluloid jewelry has been made for many years. Actually, it has been made for over 100 years now and the abundance of rose celluloid jewelry that you will find is from the 1950s or 1960s.

Celluloid jewelry over the past 100 years was made mainly in Germany, Japan, and the US. There were very nice quality pieces made after WWII, but finding pieces like this pin that were made in the 1920-1930 era is very difficult these days.

It takes a trained eye to know the difference between pieces that are really old, and pieces that are more recent - but it is not a hard thing to learn. The main difference is not in the celluloid itself, but in the designs, and the way in which the pieces of jewelry were made.

This bar pin is a Victorian style that was made in the late Edwardian period, around 1915-1920. The pin has 3 roses are set in circular frames of leaves. The leaves were machine etched to catch the light and were dipped in gold. The color of the celluloid is also a very old color. The color is a muted shade of cinnamon orange and the roses are hand carved - not molded.

If you look closely at the tips of the flower petals, you can see what you might think are flakes or chips but it is simply from the knife blade when the roses were carved. This is something you dont often see - old celluloid roses that were actually hand carved. This pin was also most likely made in Germany, not Japan or the US.

It measures 2" long x 3/4" tall and is in superb condition. The roses are perfect with no chips or other imperfections and there is no loss of gold on the front or back of the frame. The pin has the original fine working C clasp and is perfectly clean all around.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.

Antique Pearl Pin Petite Circle Wreath 1930s Jewelry $60

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This unique accent pin is a very old pearl pin from the mid to late 1930s.

The wreath and flower of small champagne pearls is set on an antiqued gold filigree round. The pin is very petite and was made to be worn at the very top center of a blouse. It is slightly smaller than a US quarter, or 7/8" wide.

The pearls are old painted pearls with a Champange luster. The pearls are in very fine condition with no flaking or scratches. Under a loupe, I do see a couple of microscopic nicks. The pin is remarkably clean and has the original fine working safety clasp.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation jewelry box.

Antique Jewelry Bow Pin Clear Crystal Christmas Brooch $110

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

It wasn't until the 1950s that US jewelry manufacturers starting producing Christmas theme jewelry that you are familiar with today. Previously, Christmas jewelry was a style of basically bells and bows, in earrings and pins, made mainly of either glass, crystal, or rhinestones. Theme jewelry such as Christmas tree pins, deer pins, Santa pins, and wreath pins, etc, didn't come until the mid to late 1950s. (There were a few exceptions, but Christmas theme jewelry was rarely if ever made before this time.)

This festive holiday bow brooch is a perfect example of early 1940s Christmas jewelry. A brooch such as this is what I call Fine Quality Vintage Holiday Jewelry, before Christmas jewelry was mass produced.

This layered flowing bow design is made of thick and weighty pot metal and is heavily plated with silver rhodium. At the center of the bow is a half rhondell of clear crystal baguettes and all of the ribbons are paved with small sparkling clear rhinestones. You will notice the quality weight of this piece when you hold it in your hand.

The bow is medium-large in size at 2 3/4" wide x 1 1/8" tall or 6.9 cm x 2.9 cm. You can get a better indication of the size by viewing the photo of the brooch in my hand.

The bow is not signed but it was assuredly made in the US in the early to mid 1940s. This brooch has been very well cared for and I sincerely doubt it has ever been worn. All of the rhinestones and crystal baguettes are original, present, and sparkling clear. There are no cloudy or mellowed rhinestones and the entire brooch is pristine and microscopically clean and bright. There is not a trace of wear to the silver rhodium; not on the bow edges, the back, or the bar closure. The back has no scratches or dings and looks brand new. The original fine working safety clasp is in place.

You can add a silver brooch slider to convert this pin to a pendant by checking the box below. Sliders come with a pair of silicon stoppers to hold slider in place.

Antique Elephant Pin Coral Turquoise Brooch Asian Jewelry $145

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This incredible ornate antique Oriental elephant pin was made in China or India in the first half of the 20th century. Ethnic jewelry of this style was made in both India and China.

The elephant is made of hand made brass bezel and brass wire work and the many inset gemstones are Red Coral and Turquoise. The molded blue cabs have the look of Blue Chalcedony, but they are glass I believe. Notice the unique hanging ring around the elephants trunk.

Oriental pins made in this fashion are very hard to find today, especially in perfect condition such as this. The elephant has exceptional 3D character as the design is stacked and layered.

This unique antique elephant is medium in size at 1 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" wide or 4.4 cm x 4.4 cm. Unsigned, the back of the pin is finished in a hand made solid brass mount and the brooch has the original fine working C clasp.

The entire pin both front and back is in spectacular pristine condition. It is microscopically clean all around with no signs of age or wear. The brass has no discoloration, dings, or scratches. All of the glass and gemstone cabs are original, present, and in fine condition.

You can add a gold metal brooch slider to convert this pin to a pendant by checking the box below.

Antique Bird Pin Pot Metal Heron Rhinestone Brooch 1940s Jewelry $195

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Of all the birds in the world, the large herons of Florida are my favorite birds of all.

This exceptional vintage 1950s bird brooch looks like a great white heron, but I think perhaps it is a giant wood stork. Regardless of whether it is a heron or a stork, this unusual old bird is very well crafted and has very appealing colors and a great dimensional design.

The bird is a nice presentation piece and is medium large at 2 5/8" long x 1 1/2" wide. The bird is silver pot metal and has rows of clear rhinestone paves on the three long sweeping tail feathers. The legs and head feathers are silver beaded metal. The body is cinnamon brown enamel flanked by green enamel feathers. The neck and head are white enamel and the eye is a green rhinestone.

Also notice the impressive row of tangerine rhinestones down the chest.

This bird is in fabulous condition for age and is perfectly clean.
There is no wear to the silver pot metal and all of the rhinestones are original, present and sparkling. Some very light wear in tiny spots on the enamels gives proof of the age of this piece. The brooch has the original fine working safety clasp and is not signed. The back is finished in silver paint and shows no signs of wear.

Butterfly Necklace Copper Enamel Pendant 1970s Vintage Jewelry $44.95

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This precious butterfly necklace is one that I have never wanted to part with as it was made in the early 1970s by a friend of mine. He was a talented guy, and he made figural copper enamel jewelry for only a short time.

This hand cut solid copper butterfly is embellished with pooling enamels in deep red, cobalt, and ocean blue. The perimeter is golden in appearance as the clear coat finish makes the copper below glisten. At the center of the body there is a cobalt and light blue glaze beaded accent.

The chain is an old flat link chain from the 1970s and it is clean and polished. It is light yellow-gold metal but for the most part, it looks silver in appearance under bright light. The chain is finished with an easy to hook lobster clasp.

The necklace is a long choker style and measures 18.5" or 46.3 cm long. The butterfly is 1 5/8" wide x 1 1/4" tall or 3.5 cm x 3.1 cm. Both chain and butterfly are in excellent clean condition with no signs of wear or other imperfections.

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This is a RARE old butterfly pin! It is a type of butterfly
jewelry that you will rarely, if ever, see!

This butterfly dates from the late 1940s or early 1950s and although it is not signed, it was made in Japan. The openwork design has an Art Nouveau influence and the butterfly is made of Japanned metal, or black enamel over silver pot metal. Yes, this is a pot metal piece !

The butterfly has 4 small clear rhinestone chatons on the wings and body. This is a medium large pin that measures 2 1/8" wide x 1 1/4" tall, or 5.4cm x 3.5 cm. Bradley and Hubbard 1880s Cast Iron Scott Irish Man Calling Card Tray $55

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This very old signed B&H cast iron calling card tray is one of the most unusual and uncommon pieces of metal ware that Bradley and Hubbard ever made. Their old cast figural items, in designs of men or women, were designs that were not most abundantly produced.

Bradley and Hubbard (1852-1940) were famous metal smith masters and some of their works are displayed in the Smithsonian Institute. This calling card tray was made in the late 1800's to the best of my knowledge. Some people call B&H flat tray designs like this pin trays but they were not made as pin trays : they were made as calling card trays. B&H made a large line of desk accessories and although they did make sewing machines, they did not make pin trays.

For those of you too young to know what a calling card tray was : If you were selling something and you went to see a merchant and the merchant was out to lunch, you simply left your business card on his calling card tray...and he would get back to you on the telephone.

This Celtic man design is very unusual and it was made for male merchants. It was used in smoke shops, barber shops, or mens tailor shops. This man has a seafaring nautical look but the main intent was to bring forth the Celtic culture. (Bradley and Hubbard are both surnames of English origin.) This tray is a symbol of those old Celtic times.

The tray is medium large in size and measures 6" tall x 5" wide or 152 mm x 127 mm. The tray is in fine condition for age with no cracks, dings, chips, or imperfections to the cast iron. There is paint wear and some light surface rust on the front. The tray is clean with no grease, grime, or foreign matter on the metal. The back of the tray is signed B&H, 3596.

Trifari Snowflake Pin RARE Blue Silver Rhinestone Brooch 1950s Jewelry $195

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

If you really want to dazzle onlookers in the winter, you cant get a more dazzling brooch than this vintage signed Crown Trifari snowflake brooch!

Made in the 1950s, this winter theme snowflake brooch is not only rare, but super spectacular and the way in quality and the way in which it is constructed. This brooch is a superb collectors investment or heirloom jewelry to pass down.

Made of silver rhodium metal, this very complex layered design is loaded with Aurora Borealis rhinestones. These faceted chatons are in the medium to light blue color spectrum and reflect hues of blues, silver, purple, pink, and gold. There are 13 AB snowflake clusters, each with 7 rhinestones or more, for a total of about 94 rhinestones on this brooch! All of the rhinestones are original, present, super sparkling, and have no facet wear.

Behind the snowflake clusters is a larger snowflake design composed of Montana blue marquise crystals. All of these crystals are original and present as well. The unique construction of this snowflake is stupendous and the colors are breath taking!

Medium large in size, the brooch is 2 1/8" or 54 mm wide. It looks like a heavy piece but it is not at all heavy to wear. You can get a better indication of the size by looking at the palm of your hand, then look at the photo of the brooch in my hand.

I have examined this brooch under a lighted table top magnifying glass and the condition is super clean and superb all around. The brooch is exceptional clean and pristine with no dirt, grime, residue, or other foreign matter; not even in the nooks and crannies. The silver rhodium is like new front and back with no metal wear or loss of silver. The back of the brooch has the Crown Trifari cartouche and the original fine working safety clasp.

I would like to make 2 small notes : The largest faceted AB chaton at the very center of the brooch has some very light microscopic surface scratches that can only be seen by me under a loupe. Also, one of the blue marquise crystals has a slightly lighter color than the rest of the crystals. Under a loupe, and in my close up photos, it can be detected but it is almost invisible to the naked eye.

Comes shipped in a new silk lined brooch presentation box.

Aquamarine Crystal Earrings Petite Princess Cuts 1940s Vintage Jewelry $65

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

These very fine quality vintage Aquamarine crystal earrings are designer signed and were made in the 1940s. The earrings are screw backs and are VERY petite. They measure just 1/2" long x 3/8" wide or 14 mm x 10mm.

This petite design is also known as a princess style, as they were originally made for special occasions for young ladies. The earrings are made of gold filled metal and the faces are plated with silver rhodium. The most admirable aspect of the earrings are the old world quality Austrian crystals and rhinestones. The faceted marquise Aquamarine crystals are brilliant true Aquamarine with reflective gold foil backs.

The small prong set clear rhinestones around the diamond shaped perimeters sparkle like real diamonds. This is because they are old Austrian crystals with a high lead content and also, were faceted in a myriad of tiny cuts.

These earrings are signed with a mark that I've never been able to identify. They read Patent 32 on one end and at the top end, a W with arrows on both sides, pointing towards the W. There were dozens and dozens of US jewelry manufacturers that started with W, but it is clear the construction and quality indicates the earrings were made in the 1940s.

Both earrings are in spectacular clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. The crystals and rhinestones are all original, present, and super sparkling clear. There is no loss of gold foil on the Aquamarines. There are no signs of metal wear or loss of original finishes.

Big Leather Flower Pins Lavender n Purple Brooches Vintage Jewelry $38.95

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

During the mid 1980s, for a very short time, there was a fashion craze of leather jewelry; specifically, big colorful leather flower pins.

Today, leather is so expensive and in high demand, I know some locals who buy scraps from tanneries and ship the leather to China. Apparently, China doesn't have any cows, and no leather.

Most of the leather pins that were made in the 1980s are unsigned and were made by small US and Canadian jewelry firms that don't exist today. For this reason, big colorful vintage leather flower pins have become very collectible. Some new pieces on the market are being made in China but you can tell the difference by the quality of the leather and the style of the pin backs. On new leather pins, the pin back style is just a straight bar pin with no round center metal piece and the leather will be thin and very fuzzy on the back.

This Lavender and dark purple flower duo were meant to be worn together. The centers have frilly stamens that can be gently pulled and arranged. The flowers are super large at 3 3/4" or 95 mm wide.

Both flowers are in pristine clean like new condition with no fading, signs of wear, or other imperfections. The pin backs are in proper working order and the flowers are not signed.

Sterling Silver Puzzle Ring Vintage 1970s Jewelry Sz 9.5 Mens Ring $54.95

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This sterling silver 4 band puzzle ring has been with me since the 1970s. I used to wear it for good luck and wish I could still wear it ... but have out grown it. It was one of the very first rings that got me started in the antique and vintage jewelry biz! The ring is a fixed size 9 1/2.

The exterior areas of the puzzle ring are polished but if you take the ring apart, you will see the old sterling silver patina in hidden areas. Im not an expert at putting together puzzle rings and it took me a few hours to remember how to put it back together. For this reason, I have secured the back of the bands with a wire tie. There are directions on the internet if you ever take the ring apart and cant put it back together.
This ring has been very well cared for and is in great condition with no scratches, scuffs, or dings. The inside is signed 925.
Comes shipped in a new luxury presentation ring box.
