Florenza 1950s Vintage Earrings Blue Green Japanned Jewel Clips $45

Florenza 1950s Vintage Earrings Blue Green Japanned Jewel Clips

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

These 1950s vintage earrings have a very special place in my heart because I have owned them since JFK was president. They are early 1950s unsigned Florenza clip earrings.

The earrings are an angled swag design; and open work design in black japanned metal. They remind me of my many years spent in and on the ocean. The marquise and chaton crystals are bright ocean blue, sea green, and clear.

I used to wear them with one particular brooch that was also made by Florenza, pictured below. It is not a matching set, but the colors and japanned styles are a great match.

Medium petite in size, the earrings are 1 5/8" or 43 mm long. They are comfortable and not heavy to wear.

The pair is in spectacular well kept pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the crystals are original, present, and sparkling. The back of the earrings have some light black enamel wear, hardly worth noting. The earrings are not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation earring box.

Vintage Cufflinks 1950s Swank Silver Orbs w Blue Crystal Baguettes $55

Vintage Cufflinks 1950s Swank Silver Orbs w Blue Crystal Baguettes

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made by Swank in the 1950s, these cufflinks were made when Swank was running out of Retro Modern Atomic Age designs to make.

They had already made every possible design they could think of, so someone there came up with something new that had a special twist : Montana blue baguette crystals set on an arch that looks like part of a wheel or steps on an escalator. This is probably where the inspiration came from. One of Swanks designers was on an elevator one day and said to himself, " If I could set baguette crystals on cufflinks to look like these steps in motion, I could create a whole new design."

The cufflinks are made of silver rhodium metal and the elliptical shapes have deep sides or edges, creating a frame with recessed satin etched silver metal on the faces.

Medium in size, the cufflinks are 1 1/8" long x 1/2" wide or 28 mm x 13 mm. Both cufflinks are in pristine clean condition. All of the crystal baguettes are original and present with no facet wear or chips. There is no loss of silver rhodium finish but the edges of the cufflinks have some very light wear from gentle handling. Both cufflinks are signed Swank.

Comes gift wrapped and hipped in a new luxury presentation cufflink box as pictured.

This vintage dress clip set is a very unusual large design that appears to have Native American influence. The clips have feathers, silver over brass, in a fan spray and the floral design is made of large marbled turquoise glass cabs.

The floral design is also accented with a silver filigree medallion and the turquoise glass cabs are set in custom made silver metal bezels. This uncommon American Indian looking dress clip set is very hard to date but the style of the clip mechanism indicates it was made in the 1930-1940 period.

Unsigned and rather large in size, the clips are 2 1/4" tall x 1 7/8" wide or 57 mm x 48 mm. The round glass cabs are 12 mm. Both clips are in spectacular condition with no imperfections or flaws. Vintage Cufflinks Mens 1950s Silver Spiral Orbs w Blue Crystals $65

Vintage Cufflinks Mens 1950s Silver Spiral Orbs w Blue Crystals

Made in the 1950s, these vintage cufflinks are not signed however I believe they were made by Swank. During a long conversation one day with a man who is a cufflink collector and has published on book on cufflinks, I was told that this Retro Modern design was inspired by the spinning wheels at carnivals; the wheels that were spun when you placed a bet.

The cufflinks demonstrate a rather new technique in jewelry manufacturing; new in the 1950s: the precision engraving of beveled spirals accomplished by the use of a diamond tip etching machine. Made of silver rhodium metal, the circle at the center is also spiral engraved. The inside ring of crystals are Sapphire blue Austrian crystal chatons, all prong set.

Medium large in size, the cufflinks are 7/8" or 23 mm wide. Both cufflinks are in pristine clean with no imperfections or flaws. There is no loss of silver rhodium and only very microscopic hints of gentle wear on the backs. All of the blue crystals are original, present, and sparkling.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation cufflink box and pictured.

Vintage Tie Clasp 1950s Mens Silver Colt Pistol Gun $55

Vintage Tie Clasp 1950s Mens Silver Colt Pistol Gun

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made in the 1950s, the vintage mens tie clasp was a very popular design men loved to wear….and drive their wives crazy when they showed up at a wedding or a formal occasion wearing it.

The tie clasp is made of silver rhodium metal and the pistol is an old Colt Model 1. Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars, in a new episode aired 11-19-12, had a customer come in with an ivory handled Colt Model 1. Rick told him that this was the same type of gun that was used to kill Wild Bill Hickok in Deadwood. While Wild Bill was playing poker with his back to the door, a man walked in and put the gun to his head and shot him dead. He fell on the floor and in his hand was a pair of aces and a pair of eights, which is where the term "Dead Mans Hand" came from when you hold aces and eights. I think Rick knows just about every gun story ever told!

Medium long in size, the tie clasp is 2 5/8" long x 1/2" tall or 65 mm x 13 mm.

The tie clasp is in pristsine clean conditon with no imperfections like scratches, dings, or metal wear. Only some very micropic light signs of gentle handlng can be detected; hardly worth noting. The alligator clip is in perfect working order and the tie clasp is not signed.

Antique Dress Clip Gold Lace Flowers w Sapphire Blue Glass $95

Antique Dress Clip Gold Lace Flowers w Sapphire Blue Glass

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made in the 1910-1930 era, this romantic dress clip features glowing Sapphire glass egg domes. This old type of Bohemian glass is electric and glows as it is silver backed. The shapes are also very old world ; tall shapes like half of an egg.

The stacked double flower design is a lovely design of layered gold gilt lace filigree. It has a great antique look not just because the patina is old, but also because it is a satin gold gilt finish.

This dress clip, because of its large size, was probably sold individually and not as a set. A dress clip this size was meant to be worn on the collar of a dress off to the side, or front and center.

A large handful, the dress clip is 2 3/4" long x 1 3/4" wide or 73 mm x 44 mm. The Sapphire blue glass eggs are about 16 mm wide x 10 mm tall.

Both front and back are in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, dings, or cracks to the glass cabs. There is only microscopic light and gentle hints of gold wear, hardly worth noting. The clip is not signed but it is most likely German or Czech in origin.

This dress clip can also be worn as a pendant by simply clipping it to a chain or cord.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation brooch box.

Butterfly Pin Vintage 1950s Delizza Elster Juliana Pink Crystal Brooch $110

Butterfly Pin Vintage 1950s Delizza Elster Juliana Pink Crystal Brooch

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

The building at 611 Broadway St. NY is a very famous landmark. It was the home of Delizza and Elster Jewelry Co. in the 1950s. Sadly, it is now home to a Crate & Barrel.

D&E was a completely family run business, a very large family, and Im sure there were times when Frank Delizza wanted to run out into the middle of Broadway screaming and pulling his hair out. There were a lot of women in his family who worked at the company and they knew what women wanted: the most enchanting butterfly brooches the world has ever seen. They went to Frank over and over so many times to get their butterfly designs approved.... it must have made his head spin.

Their persistence paid off, as demonstrated by this butterfly brooch, which in my opinion is the most sensational pink butterfly brooch ever made by D&E.

This majestic butterfly exudes and air of regal jewels, combining deep ruby red crystals with dazzling rose pink crystals. The brooch is made of gold plated metal and all of the crystals are prong set. These premium Austrian crystals have an electric glowing life source of their own; their sparkle and brilliance is enchanting. In addition, superb brilliance is also achieved in this design as all of the crystals are very tightly set together, and reflect light off each other.

Medium large in size, the brooch is 2 1/16" wide x 1 3/4" tall or 52 mm x 45 mm. The brooch is in superb pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the crystals are original and present with no scratches, chips, cracks, or cloudiness. There is no gold metal wear or loss of gold. The back has the original fine working safety clasp and the brooch is not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation brooch box.

This brooch can also be worn as a pendant with the addition of a silver metal brooch slider which you can add below.
