Cameo Pin 12kt GF Black Lip Mother of Pearl 1950s CATAMORE Brooch $195

Cameo Pin 12kt GF Black Lip Mother of Pearl 1950s CATAMORE Brooch

CLICK TITLE TO BUY
Of all the antique and vintage cameo pins ever made, of my very favorite are those carved from premium specimens of Black Lip Mother of Pearl.

Unlike shell cameos, BL MOP cameos really catch your eye because they appear to have a life of their own and light up from within. This superb cameo was made in the 1950s and it is designer signed Catamore 1/20 12kt GF.

I admire the long slender look of this brooch and the striking double rope gold frame. The black lip has great reflective quality and reflects brilliant pastel hues within. This brooch can also be worn as a pendant with the addition of a gold metal brooch slider which you can add on my site.

Medium large in size, the brooch is 1 5/8" long x 1" wide or 42 mm x 26 mm. The entire brooch is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no gold wear or loss of gold. The Mother of Pearl settings are perfect with no chips, cracks, scratches, or loss of natural sheen. The back of the brooch has the original fine working safety clasp and the Catamore 1/20 12kt GF cartouche.

Cameo Pin Antique Lavender Pink Glass Victorian Brooch $135

Cameo Pin Antique Lavender Pink Glass Victorian Brooch

Of all the antique and vintage cameo pins ever made, of my very favorites are ones molded from really old, unusual glass.

This cameo is molded from either French or English glass that is both rose pink and lavender. Under different lighting the glass can take on slightly different hues; more pink under natural daylight and more lavender under household lighting.

This cameo is Victorian and dating it is a little bit difficult but it was made in the later half of the 19th century. The openwork gold frame is actually two layered frames. The frames have a unique octagonal/diamond shape with scrolls in relief and finished in gold gilt.

Medium petite in size, the brooch is 1 1/4" tall x 1 1/8" wide or 33 mm x 28 mm. The back of the brooch has the original old C clasp.

The entire brooch is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. The glass cameo is in perfect glossy condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. There is no loss of gold on the front of the frame; some moderate gold wear and brass wear on the back of the brooch only. The brooch is not signed but was most likely made in France or England.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation brooch box.

Grey Crystal and Pearl Dangle Vintage Pierced Earrings 1950s Jewelry

Made in the 1950s, these dangle style earrings may have been made by Hattie Carnegie. They were once clip earrings and probably signed, but the earrings have been converted to pierced earrings.

Each earrings has a large silver flashed grey crystal ball and 4 light grey pearls that are acrylic beads with satin glossy finishes. Vintage Cufflinks Mens 1950s Silver Spiral Orbs w Blue Crystals $65

Vintage Cufflinks Mens 1950s Silver Spiral Orbs w Blue Crystals

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made in the 1950s, these vintage cufflinks are not signed however I believe they were made by Swank. During a long conversation one day with a man who is a cufflink collector and has published on book on cufflinks, I was told that this Retro Modern design was inspired by the spinning wheels at carnivals; the wheels that were spun when you placed a bet.

The cufflinks demonstrate a rather new technique in jewelry manufacturing; new in the 1950s: the precision engraving of beveled spirals accomplished by the use of a diamond tip etching machine. Made of silver rhodium metal, the circle at the center is also spiral engraved. The inside ring of crystals are Sapphire blue Austrian crystal chatons, all prong set.

Medium large in size, the cufflinks are 7/8" or 23 mm wide. Both cufflinks are in pristine clean with no imperfections or flaws. There is no loss of silver rhodium and only very microscopic hints of gentle wear on the backs. All of the blue crystals are original, present, and sparkling.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation cufflink box and pictured.

Vintage Cufflinks 1950s Swank Silver Orbs w Blue Crystal Baguettes $55

Vintage Cufflinks 1950s Swank Silver Orbs w Blue Crystal Baguettes

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made by Swank in the 1950s, these cufflinks were made when Swank was running out of Retro Modern Atomic Age designs to make.

They had already made every possible design they could think of, so someone there came up with something new that had a special twist : Montana blue baguette crystals set on an arch that looks like part of a wheel or steps on an escalator. This is probably where the inspiration came from. One of Swanks designers was on an elevator one day and said to himself, " If I could set baguette crystals on cufflinks to look like these steps in motion, I could create a whole new design."

The cufflinks are made of silver rhodium metal and the elliptical shapes have deep sides or edges, creating a frame with recessed satin etched silver metal on the faces.

Medium in size, the cufflinks are 1 1/8" long x 1/2" wide or 28 mm x 13 mm. Both cufflinks are in pristine clean condition. All of the crystal baguettes are original and present with no facet wear or chips. There is no loss of silver rhodium finish but the edges of the cufflinks have some very light wear from gentle handling. Both cufflinks are signed Swank.

Comes gift wrapped and hipped in a new luxury presentation cufflink box as pictured.

Vintage Patriotic Cufflinks 1960s American Flags Austrian Rhinestones $55

Vintage Patriotic Cufflinks 1960s American Flags Austrian Rhinestones

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

These vintage American Flag cufflinks... have sat lonely and under appreciated... in their original red, white, and blue patriotic box since JFK was president. That's how long I've had them, and they have never been worn.

The cufflinks are actually really neat old flags as they are made of super sparkling Austrian crystal chatons and all of the rhinestones are prong set. The cufflinks are made of gold base metal with a gold gilt finish. Thet are not gold plated but finished with metallic 24kt gold paint or gold flux.

The cufflink box is the original early 1960s box the cufflinks were sold in. Neither the cufflinks or the box are marked but they were assuredly made in the USA.

Medium petite in size, the flags are 3/4" long x 7/16" tall or 19 mm x 10 mm. The rhinestones are about 3 mm each.

The cufflinks are in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the rhinestones are original, present, and in crisp sparkling condition. The box is in very fine shape as well with only scant signs of gentle handling.

Vintage Cufflinks Peacock Carnival Glass Silver Frames 1950s Mens Jewelry $65

Vintage Cufflinks Peacock Carnival Glass Silver Frames 1950s Mens Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

It never ceases to amaze me that over the past 40 years I have met just as many men as women who collect 1950s peacock carnival glass; perhaps more men than women. For some unknown reason, the peacock carnival glass was a particular favorite with men.

Made in the 1950s, these silver rhodium cufflinks feature deeply molded peacock carnival glass with geometric patterns; much like the old molded patterns in compotes and bowls. The frames are nice geometric matches with polished folded over corners.

Medium in size, the cufflinks are about 3/4" or 21 mm wide. The glass cabs are 15 mm.

In pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws, there is no silver rhodium wear or loss of silver. The glass cabs are perfect as well with no chips, scratches, or scuffs. The silver mesh chains are perfect with no kinks or silver wear. Any faint signs of gentle handling on the backs or edges are on a very microscopic level. The cufflinks are not signed.

Dragon Pendant Chinese Sterling and Carved Scrimshaw Necklace $120

Dragon Pendant Chinese Sterling and Carved Scrimshaw Necklace

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This year of the dragon pendant is a unique hand crafted piece and is most likely one of a kind. The pendant is made of carved and scrimshaw etched bone and the dragon is stained Chinese red and soft pale green. The large round design has a hand crafted sterling silver bezel and a large ornate bail.

I cannot be certain when this pendant was made but there are dates on the back and the artists initials. The Year of the Dragon dates on the back are 1952,1964,1976,1988, and 2000. As the styling of the bail is rather modern, I would assume the pendant was made in 2000.

Large in size, the pendant is 1 3/8" or 36 mm wide. The glistening silver metal chain is a new chain, 28" or 71 cm long. ( The chain is not sterling silver).

The pendant is in pristine clean perfect condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no signs of wear and no scratches, scuffs, or chips. The sterling is clean and bright and the bezel is signed 925.

Antique Gold Locket 12kt GF Crystal Firework Flowers 1920s Jewelry $345

Antique Gold Locket 12kt GF Crystal Firework Flowers 1920s Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This beautiful antique gold locket is a very special locket. It was made during the Edwardian era (1890-1920) and the face has an engraved firework design of flowers and ribbons with old crystal insets. The inspiration behind this design is rather simple as in the spring, everything "bursts" into bloom.

This antique round design is a classic antique beauty and what is very special about this piece is that it is designer signed. Inside, there is an insect logo of a bee, and the letters Atrice below the bee. You are supposed to put the two together to form the name Beatrice. The logo is also dated 1874, which is when R.B. MacDonald & Co. first began making fine gold and silver jewelry in Attleboro, MA. (Beatrice was not the name of the company but rather a hallmark name for their designs.)

The locket was once signed 1/20 12kt GF on the jump ring bail but it is heavily worn and very difficult to see; only parts of the letters and numbers remain, and only visible under high power magnification. The face of the locket has 6 inset old hand cut crystals that are diamond grey in color. They are grey to imitate the look of old diamonds, which were also somewhat grey. They are very roughly hand cut and the one at the center might have a slight chip, or it could have been faceted this way.

The gold is a beautiful rose gold color both front and back. The inside has places for 2 photos with the original photo lock rings still in place.

Medium large in size, the locket is about 1 1/4" or 30 mm wide. The 20" or 51 cm antique style gold metal chain is a new chain and never worn. It is not gold filled or gold plated; it is new gold metal. This is a temporary chain so the locket can be worn right away. I do not recommend making it a permanent chain as this locket deserves a nice solid gold chain. (There is no price discount for ordering the locket without the chain.)

The locket is in pristine clean polished condition with no major imperfections or flaws. There are no important scratches, scuffs, or dings. The front and back does have light to moderate microscopic scratch/swirls from gentle handling over the past 100+ years. There is no worn gold or gold wear on the faces but some gold wear around the edges. Overall, the condition is exceptional for a locket this old.

Gold Pearl Crocheted Vintage Bracelet 1960s Vintage Jewelry $75

Gold Pearl Crocheted Vintage Bracelet 1960s Vintage Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

The 1960s was a time when all women had the skills and the time to sew, knit, embroider, and crochet. My German grandmother knitted one afghan a month! I had 2 sisters and my mother made all of our dresses and special school outfits... and I honestly don't know how she did it!

Because women made things that were must have needed items, it was not very common to find ladies who crocheted jewelry items. For this reason, bracelets like this are very uncommon to find today.

It is crocheted from metallic gold thread and the stitching is quit professional and perfect. The exterior is embellished with four rows of satin gold pearl beads. What is also exceptional about finding a bracelet like this is that it is not stretched out and appears to have never been worn. All of the gold pearl beads have no significant wear.

My wrist is exactly 7" and while the bracelet will fit, it is a little to snug for comfort. The bracelet will best fit wrists that are 6 1/2" or less. It is 1 1/4" or 32 mm wide and the gold pearl beads are 8 mm. The entire bracelet is perfectly clean and bright.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation bracelet box.

These luminous antique earrings are very rare. The earrings are twisted beads of mouth blown Opalescent French pink glass. The glass has gorgeous opalescence and appears to light up from within. This glowing pink glass is very rare and it is called French pink because if the color.

The earrings could have been made in France or the Bohemia region and date from the 1920-1930 era. The earrings are brass screw backs and the ear posts are adorned with fine quality glass Mabe pearls.

Overall, the earrings hang down 1 3/8" or mm long. The pink twist beads are about 3/4" long x 3/8" wide, or 20 mm x 12 mm, and top and bottom of the beads have the original old brass bell flower caps.

Unsigned, the earrings are in excellent pristine clean condition. The glass beads and the pearls are perfect with no scratches or chips. The brass findings have an aged patina but the findings are clean with no verdigris or dirt.

Italian Glass Mosaic Pin BIG Oval Floral Brooch 1950s Jewelry $95

Italian Glass Mosaic Pin BIG Oval Floral Brooch 1950s Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made in Italy in the 1940-1950 era, this large glass mosaic brooch is an exquisite hand made floral design.

Italians have been making spectacular glass mosaic jewelry for centuries but it wasn’t until the 1940-1950 era that large designs came about. Over the past 30+ years, large Italian glass mosaic brooches have always been a favorite of mine to collect and wear because the larger brooches are just out right impressive and eye catching. Large designs are also more difficult to find.

In addition, I also admire the color composition of this brooch because the colorful flowers jump out on the black glass mosaic background, and black backgrounds are also of the most difficult to find.

The brooch has a gold metal rope frame and also note the very special red, white and blue caned glass border. These three colors are not a mosaic inlay but rather caned glass tube beads.

Large in size, the brooch is 2" wide x 1 1/4" tall or 50 mm x 33 mm.

The entire brooch is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the glass pieces retain their original high gloss finish and there are no missing, chipped, or cracked pieces. The back of the brooch is gold plated and is signed Italy. The original fine working C clasp is in place.

Antique Cameo Pin Rare Mt. Vesuvius Carved Sardonyx Italian Brooch $165

Antique Cameo Pin Rare Mt. Vesuvius Carved Sardonyx Italian Brooch

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

This antique/vintage cameo pin or pendant is a rare to find scenic Italian brooch. The pin is carved sardonyx shell and the scene is of Naples : a coastal scene of a large tree, mountains, buildings, the ocean, a sailboat, and Mt. Vesuvius in the background.

The carving of the this brooch is very professional and the multiple layers and fine details indicate this was not a poorly made brooch for the tourist trade. Below you can see a real photograph of this scene.

It is very hard to date when this pin was made but it was assuredly made in the first half of the 19th century. The hand made twisted rope frame is probably not solid gold. I can see silver solder in my close up photos. The frame appears to be rolled gold over silver or gold plated. The cameo is securely prong set and the back as an old style C clasp and a custom made soldered bail.

Medium petite in size, the pin or pendant is 1 1/4" tall x 1" wide or 30 mm x 24 mm.

The entire pin is in spectacular pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. The cameo is perfect with no chips, cracks, scratches, or scuffs. The gold is in sparkling clean condition with no wear or worn gold. The pin is not signed.

As an antique and vintage jewelry collector for 30+ years, I've sold many Cha-Cha bracelets but have never had the heart to part with this one because it is the definition of Cha- Cha!

Made in the late 1950s or early 1960s, this gold, white, and frosted clear bead creation is crazy, wild, and over the top! The bracelet portion is made of silver rhodium metal and is an expandable stretch style. It is loaded with so many different tightly clustered beads it is next to impossible to explain in words.

Generally, the white beads look like milk glass but they are nice quality old thermoset plastic. There are oodles of different gold metal beads and many different clear frosted Lucite beads as well. The assortment of vintage beads on this bracelet is absolutely fascinating! Just take a look at the spectacular photos above!

The bracelet is expandable to fit any size wrist and it will best fit on wrists that are 7" or smaller in diameter. All the beads make it about 2" or 50 mm wide. The bracelet is bulky, clatters when shaken, and slightly heavy to wear.

Antique Vaseline Glass Pin Italian Renaissance Brooch 1920s Jewelry $295

Antique Vaseline Glass Pin Italian Renaissance Brooch 1920s Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

You could search a lifetime for a antique brooch like this one; it is extremely rare, very unique, and aesthetically striking.

Made in Italy circa 1925, this design is Italian Renaissance Revival. In most cases the only time you will see a brooch like this is in a book or museum. Even the most famous historian of antique glass in jewelry, Sibylle Jargstorf, was not able to depict any antique Vaseline glass brooches in her book Glass in Jewelry.

Made of mix of antiqued brass, copper, and gold filled metal, the brooch features a large hand faceted rectangular cab of rare Vaseline glass. The Vaseline cab is faceted on the back and around the front edges and is set in a custom made saw tooth bezel.

The Millefiori canes on the face are not applied and cannot be felt as they are inside the glass itself. The swirled canes are red, white, blue, and green with a ribbon of gold aventurine at the center. The frame is a twisted rope with pierced edging and embellished with four flower medallions, one on each side.

This brooch can also be worn as a pendant with the addition of a gold metal brooch slider, either in a horizontal or vertical fashion. You can add a brooch slider by checking one of the boxes below this description.

Medium in size, the brooch is 1 1/2" wide x 1" tall or 38 mm x 25 mm.

The entire brooch is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches, scuffs, chips, or cracks to the front or back of the glass cab. The brass is clean as well with no signs of wear or verdigris. The back has the original fine working safety clasp. The brooch is not signed.

Big Chunky Lucite Vintage Bracelet Clear Icicles w Gold 1960s Jewelry $75

Big Chunky Lucite Vintage Bracelet Clear Icicles w Gold 1960s Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Im crazy about 1950's-1960s vintage Lucite panel bracelets and vintage Lucite bauble bracelets. Over the past 30+ years, I have concentrated on finding the most exemplary pieces I can find.

The Chinese cant copy these styles well at all because the quality of materials and the unique designs is not something they can do. Only vintage US jewelry designers had this wacky art down to a science, and now they are long gone.

When I look at a bracelet like this, I often wonder about the woman who designed it. (Yes, it was typically women who came up with the designs, and the man- owned company they worked for took the credit.) I wonder what on earth inspired their imagination to create baubles like these!

I believe these baubles represent snow, ice, and holiday gold leaves. The large oval baubles are Clear Lucite with deep icicle like impressions wrapped in bright gold metal leaves. The wafer disks are marbled clear and white Lucite that reminds me of glistening frozen snow. Why they are round disks with meniscus sides and are not even in thickness is a mystery.

The big double link bracelet chain is made of bright gold metal and the bracelet is finished with a fold over box clasp. The bracelet is not signed however I believe it is either a vintage Coro or Judy Lee design.

When clasped, the bracelet is 7 1/2" or 19 cm long. Both bauble and disk beads are about 7/8" or 21-23 mm long.

The entire bracelet is in pristine clean like new condition and has never been worn. There are no signs of wear or scuff marks from the beads rubbing together. All of the gold is clean and perfect with no loss of gold or gold wear.

Carnelian Vintage Bracelet GREAT Ethnic Persian Silver 1970s Jewelry $175

Carnelian Vintage Bracelet GREAT Ethnic Persian Silver 1970s Jewelry

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Made in the 1970s, this hand made Persian bracelet is a spectacular vintage design with huge Carnelian gems.

The bracelet is not signed however designs like this were predominately made in India, Morroco, and Tunisia. It is sad to say that we don't see much jewelry coming to the US from these regions today. Metal makers in some of these regions have turned their production efforts into making knives, guns, and ammo.

I truly admire this bracelet as the Carnelian gems are polished natural shapes, vary in hue, and are very translucent and alive. The bracelet is not sterling silver but rather a smelted mix of nickel, pewter, and zinc. All of the links are hand made and irregular in shape and size. The Carnelian cabs are set in hand made custom bezels with soldered rope frames.

Finished with a large fish hook style clasp, the bracelet can be hooked between 7 1/4" and 8 3/4" long or 18.4 cm to 22 cm.

The entire bracelet both front and back is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the Carnelian cabs are perfect with no cracks, chips, or scratches. There is no silver metal wear or loss of silver and no scratches or dings.

Bird Pin 1950s Vintage Cultured Pearls w Gemstones IPS Signed Brooch $85

Bird Pin 1950s Vintage Cultured Pearls w Gemstones IPS Signed Brooch

CLICK TITLE TO BUY

Two birds on a branch, or love bird theme pins, were a favorite design of many jewelry makers for centuries. Most that were made in the US in the 1950 era were just enamels and/or rhinestones but there were a few companies that made fine quality pins in this theme.

This 1950s vintage love bird pin is designer signed IPS for Imperial Pearl Syndicate who was well known for 14kt gold jewelry and Akoya cultured pearl jewelry. (More about IPS below.)

This brooch has a touch of Oriental styling as the gold branch and leaves resemble bamboo. The branch and leaves are machine etched and beveled to create a sparkling finish. The birds are made of oval and domed 10 mm long gemstone cabs of Carnelian and Jadeite. Their heads are 4 mm Akoya cultured pearls.

Medium petite in size, the brooch is 1 3/4" long x 1 1/8" tall or 45 mm x 29 mm. The back of the pin has the IPS 14kt G cartouche and the original fine working 14kt gold safety clasp and closure bar.

The entire pin is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. The pearls and gemstones are perfect with no scratches, chips, or cracks. The gold is clean and bright with no signs of wear.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation brooch box.

Imperial was founded by Joseph Gladstone in 1917, later renamed the Imperial Pearl Syndicate in 1941. During the post-war period, Imperial was the first US company to bring the Japanese Akoya cultured pearls to the US. A unique marketing campaign helped establish brand recognition in the 1940's and 1950's as both Imperial and Deltah pearls marketing campaigns featured ads with some of America's most notable celebrities including Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley Temple, and Loretta Young. Gladstone sold the company to Sidney Weiss in 1969, who then sold it to the Waltham Watch Company in 1971. During Waltham's ownership, Imperial virtually abandoned its cultured pearl business and diversified into simulated pearls and gold-filled jewelry.

This 1950s vintage brooch is an extremely rare design. It reminds me of lichens, moss, or seaweed, but it also reminds me of a very special type of coral that is rarely seen by humans called Articulated Coralline Algae.

This large and multi dimensional brooch is made of antiqued silver metal that looks like pewter. It is not pewter, but rather a mix of nickel and zinc. The brooch is not signed however I can tell you in my 30+ years of collecting vintage jewelry, I have never seen another brooch like this one.

The brooch is large but not heavy to wear. It is 2 1/2" or 64 mm wide. You can get a better indication of the size by viewing the photo of the brooch in my hand.

The entire brooch is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There is no silver metal wear or loss of silver metal. The back has the original fine working safety clasp.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation brooch box.

Atomic Space Age Vintage Bracelet Spinning Orbs 1950s Jewelry

You can call this vintage bracelet Mid Century Modern or Retro Modern, but what I call is it a wild and rare Atomic Space Age design!

I often wonder where women who designed a bracelet like this one got their inspiration. ( Yes, it was mostly women who came up with designs like this, and the man owned company they worked for, took the credit!) It is obvious this crazy spinning orb design was inspired by the solar system.

There are three strands of glossy black thermoset plastic orbs that look and feel like glass. The orbs spin freely inside the gold plated thick metal rings. Look at the ornate, wide, gold metal findings on the ends of the bracelet. These are a style you don't often see and they date the bracelet to the 1945-1955 era. The bracelet is not signed but Im certain not many were made. In my 30+ years of collecting vintage jewelry, this is the only one I've ever seen.

When clasped, the bracelet is 8" or 20.3 cm long. It is about 1 3/4" or 45 mm wide. The orb links are 1/2" or 13 mm each.

The entire bracelet is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no scratches or dings and no gold wear or loss of gold. All of the black orbs are clean and glossy. The original fold over box clasp is in perfect working order.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation bracelet box.
