Marquise Opal Crystal Vintage Cocktail Ring 1960s Jewelry $65

Marquise Opal Crystal Vintage Cocktail Ring 1960s Jewelry $65

This vintage cocktail ring is one that I stashed away decades ago and decided to never sell... because I thought only I could appreciate it.

Over the past 30+ years I have collected vintage opal glass and opal crystal rings but today it is very difficult to find them anymore at all and it is almost impossible to find them in perfect condition. This ring is not in perfect condition by my standards but I realize now that the imperfection is very minimal and is actually aesthetically pleasing.

This large gleaming cocktail ring was made in the 1960s and is marquise shaped with a marquise opal glass stone at center. The marquise glass stone is framed by two rows of old Austrian Opal Rhinestones, all prong set. These old rhinestones have superb fire and brilliance and imitate the look of real Opals like probably nothing you've ever seen!

The glass opal stone at the center has succumbed to age and at the top and bottom, at the tips of the marquise, the glass is darkened on the back from age. The spots are very small, but they are there, and it bothered me for years until I realized that this is just how closed-back opal glass stones age. All of the Austrian rhinestone Opals are perfect with no discoloration from age.

The ring band is adjustable from a size 6 to a size 7 1/2. the face of the ring is large at 1 1/4" tall x 3/4" wide or 30 mm x 19 mm.

The back of the ring is finished in yellow gold plate and the ring band is antiqued gold gilt or gold paint. The gold on the inside of the ring band is worn and the yellow gold plate on the back of the ring has light wear. All of the rhinestones are original and present. The ring is not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new luxury presentation ring box.
